Reading Royalty

After the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton like many other girls I started thinking about what if I end up marrying a prince? It's many girls dream to become a princess and live happily ever after but lets face it there is only a handful of princes in the world a billions of girls. It may have worked out in Kate Middleton's favour but most of us will end up marrying a guy who we call our prince charming but is really just a guy who we met in some "interesting" way. There will always be that desire to have a perfect romance with a prince or royalty, so to satisfy that desire I have turned to books. I have found a few books where a commoner ends up with a royal and I must say you feel very happy and hopeful after reading a book like that. So, I have compiled a list of books involving royals so that we can all live out our dreams vicariously through the characters in the books.

1. The Calypso Chronicles by Tyne O'Connell
This series of 4 books were great! I personally loved them. It's the classic story of a girl from North America attending boarding school in England where she meets her prince. The four books were Pulling Princes, Stealing Princes, Dueling Princes and Dumping Princes. When I bought them I actually only bought two books. The first two stories were in one and the last two stories were in the other. Those to books were called A Royal Match and A Royal Mess. If you like books about the unpopular girl getting the popular guy or in this case Royal then you'll love these books. They're full of laughs and romance!

2. The Princess For Hire series by Lindsey Leavitt
This series of 3 had an awesome plot line. An normal girl who has magic! it doesn't get better than that! The books are all about how this girl gets hired by a princess replacement company so that when real princess's get tired of carrying out their royal duties they can hire someone who through the power of magic transforms into the princess and carries out the duties. This results in many hilarious events and one teenage girl finding her real-life prince. The three books are Princess For Hire, The Royal Treatment and Farwell To Charms. These books are perfect who like romance, royalty and a little bit of magic.

3. The Valerie Winslow Series by Niki Burnham
Ok- I seriously could not stop reading this trilogy. I actually managed to buy all three books in one the name of the book was Royally Crushed. If your buying each book by itself the names are Royally Jacked, Spin Control and Do-Over. The series is about a girl who moves to a small European country where she attends a fancy school where she meets the prince of the country. Not only are they going to school together but they are also living under the same roof (sorta). Her father works for the royal family so they have an apartment in the palace. I guarantee you will enjoy this series !

4. Cloaked by Alex Flinn
For fantasy lovers this is the book for you! Now the main character of the story doesn't necessarily end up with royalty but this book is based off of many fairytales and there is some royals in it! Of course there is still a love story which i very much enjoyed. I brought this book on vacation with me and thought it was the perfect book to bring along. I would highly recommend reading it!

5. A Kiss In Time by Alex Flin
This is one book I haven't read YET. It is on my book shelf and is certainly on my list of must reads. I have heard all positive responses from this book and from what I gather the book is based off of sleeping beauty. After reading the back it sounds like an opposites attract book where a regular guy falls in love with a princess. If anyone has read this book please leave a comment and let me know how it is!

I love reading and I think its a great escape. I will probably do more book posts in the future! If anyone knows of anymore books involving royalty and romances please let me know!
